SSgt Jayson Herrera

 

Staff Sgt. Jayson Herrera is the non-commissioned officer in Readiness and Plans, 99th Services Squadron, Nellis Air Force Base.  As the Unit Deployment Manager, he is responsible for training and preparing all Services airmen ready to deploy.  He directly supports the six wings and 24 tenant units across Nellis AFB and Creech AFB.

 

Staff Sgt Herrera is a 1997 Graduate of Sandia High School in Albuquerque, NM.  He has directly supported Operations Allied Force, Operation Southern Watch, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Tsgt. Theodore Warne

Tech. Sgt. Theodore Warne was born in Columbus, Ohio, but grew up mostly in Tacoma, Wash.  His father was in the Air Force for 23 years, so he and his family moved a lot.

 

He has been in the Air Force for 14 years as a vehicle and equipment mechanic. He currently runs the maintenance shop for the 820th Red Horse Squadron at Nellis Air Force Base.

 

Tech. Sgt. Warne’s assignments include Kelly AFB, San Antonio, Texas; Osan AB, Republic of Korea; Kadena AB, Okinawa, Japan and Nellis AFB, Las Vegas, Nev.

 

He has been married to his wife for thirteen years, and they have two sons.  Tech. Sgt. Warne’s hobbies include woodworking and cars.

 







TSgt Joseph Madaus

 

Tech. Sgt. Joe Madaus is the non-commissioned officer in charge of network administration, Nellis Air Force Base Network Control Center.  As the NCOIC, he is responsible for the administration of two networks with 14,000 users, 200 servers, and leads 23 people in the daily operations of the network control center.  He directly supports Red Flag exercises, Predator operations, six wings and 24 tenant units across Nellis AFB and Creech AFB.

Tech. Sgt. Madaus is a 1995 Graduate of Gibault Catholic High School in Waterloo, Ill.  He has directly supported Operations Noble Eagle/Noble Anvil, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

SSgt Antonia Williams

 

BRIEF HISTORY:
Staff Sgt. Antonia Williams is the non-commissioned officer in charge of training, Nellis AFB Services Squadron.  As the NCOIC of training, she is responsible for the training all new airman in food service.
 

Staff Sgt. Williams is a 2007 Graduate of Vanguard High School in Ocala, Fl.  She has directly supported Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

SSgt Joshua Tully 

BRIEF HISTORY: 

Born in Torrance, CA and raised in Phoenix, AZ where he graduated high school.  He joined the US Air Force a mere 17 days after graduation.  Once graduated from Basic Training, SSgt Tully went to the Joint DoD fire academy, The Louis F. Garland Fire Academy, where he graduated at an Air Force Firefighter.  Over the next 8 years, Sgt Tully would be assigned to bases in Northern California, Korea, and Arizona before taking his current special duty assignment here at Nellis Air Force base as an Airborne Firefighter.  He’s been in the Air Force for a total of 11.5 years now.

 

JOB DISCRIPTION:
The job of an Air Force firefighter is to protect the lives and property that work within the Department of Defense.  They are responsible for responding to the entire gamut of emergencies from medical to fires, from structural emergencies to emergencies that involve aircraft.  They are also trained to deal with Hazardous Materials incidents among many other situations.  Then there is the airborne aspect of the job.  As an Airborne Firefighter, one is trained to set up a fire department capable of operating in forward locations in just about any environment.
